Q: How are the winners selected?

A: All on-line entry registrations will go through an initial screening process to be assessed for appropriateness, thoroughness, commitment, and preparation.  Orientation is an opportunity for Q&A, fine-tuning, and advice.  At the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition, entries will be judged on the depth of issue analysis, quality of the solution, effectiveness of implementation, originality (in issue selection and treatment), and thoroughness of preparation.

Q: What will happen at the orientation session?

A: We will provide important information.  It is also an opportunity for Q&A, fine-tuning, and advice to plan and implement your proposed solution.  You may ask general and specific questions.  Since this is a competition, you may choose to request a private discussion with organizers, away from participants/competitors, about your issue and proposed solution.

Q: Is my written submission a part of the final judging?

A: Yes - the judges will review entries before the Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition
